Charles Carver Martensen (born July 31, 1988) is an American actor.
Biography[]
Carver was born in San Francisco, California, on July 31, 1988. His identical twin brother, Max, was born seven minutes later on August 1. Carver attended Interlochen Arts Academy, ACT San Francisco, and the University of Southern California, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Art History. Carver came out as gay in 2016.
Charlie and Max often portrayed twins on the screen such as their acting debut as the young adults Porter and Preston Scavo, respectively, in ABC's cult TV series Desperate Housewives as well as Ethan and Aiden in MTV's Teen Wolf, respectively.
Carver also portrayed Scott Frost on the first season of the HBO television series The Leftovers, and starred as Cowboy in both The Boys in the Band on Broadway – his Broadway debut – and the subsequent 2020 film of the same name produced by Ryan Murphy and directed by Joe Mantello alongside AHS repertory cast Zachary Quinto and Matt Bomer. In 2020, Carver also starred in the Netflix drama series Ratched, created by Murphy and starring Sarah Paulson in the titular role as well as AHS alum Finn Wittrock.
Work on American Horror Story[]
Charlie Carver joined the American Horror Story franchise after working on other Ryan Murphy productions. He stars in the eleventh installment of the series, titled AHS: NYC as Adam Carpenter. In addition to his acting, Carver serves as one of the writers for the eleventh season as well as producer.
