Dominic Banks is an ambitious actor. He is a character in Roanoke portrayed by Cuba Gooding, Jr.. He portrayed Matt Miller in "My Roanoke Nightmare".
Background[]
Not much is known about Dominic, other than the fact that he was a relatively unknown actor before his role on “My Roanoke Nightmare". Inbetween the shows production, Shelby and Dominic started dating and broke up. Dominic wants to go back on the show to win back Shelby.
Personality and Appearance[]
Although his outward personality is caring, consoling and friendly, Dominic is actually a fame-hungry person who is determined to do immoral things to gain the attention he wants. He is also willing to put his life at risk for the sake of fame as well. Because of these desires, he is even willing to use and toy with Shelby to evoke more drama.
It's likely that Dominic slept with Shelby before the show's sequel to gain widespread attention from the media.
Story[]
Following his breakthrough role in “My Roanoke Nightmare“, he had a one-night stand with Shelby Miller. Since one of the concepts of the show's sequel, “Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell” was bringing the actors and their respective characters together, series creator Sidney Aaron James wanted Dominic to return. However, Shelby spoke against Dominic's return as she was trying to piece together her and Matt's broken marriage. Nonetheless, Sidney still requested his return as his role in stirring up the tension between Shelby and Matt will garner more views.
Dominic was absent for most of the first day until the late evening. When he entered Roanoke House, he happily greeted Shelby only to be attacked by a furious Matt. Eventually, the two are separated by Shelby and Rory Monahan, the actor who played Edward Philippe Mott. When Audrey, the fictional “Shelby”, rushed down the stairs after witnessing a spirit in the bathroom, Dominic consoled her due to Rory's request, another way of keeping up the pretense of his good nature. After Audrey's earlier ordeal, Dominic was the first actor to express some belief in Shelby and Matt's story, as he cannot believe Sidney to have orchestrated what could have been an attack on Audrey.[2]
The following morning, he offered a drink to former colleague Monet Tumusiime, the fictional “Lee Harris“, to help with coming to terms with the possibility of an attack. The real Lee Harris was disappointed by that and tried to stop Dominic, stating that him knowingly offering an alcoholic a drink is the same as handing a loaded gun to a killer. He approached Shelby in the kitchen, telling her that he can't ignore her forever. Dominic tried to convince her that he is a better match for her, even beginning to touch her. Suddenly, Matt walked in, seeing the two in a suspicious yet harmless position. Angered, Matt said that Dominic could have Shelby if he wanted to, and even sleep with her on the kitchen counter if he pleases.
In his first confessional, Dominic admitted that he doesn't actually want to pursue a relationship with Shelby, even though he states that he does care about her. He revealed that Sidney brought him back for ratings and has even given him a body cam to record events that may not be captured through the existing cameras. That same day, he saved Shelby from getting murdered by unscripted actress Agnes Mary Winstead during one of her psychotic episodes, in which she identified a little too much with her role as “The Butcher”. Agnes managed to escape, barely injured, whilst he tried to comfort Shelby. Dominic later tried to communicate to Sidney through the house's cameras, telling him in a worried tone that Shelby was injured and required an ambulance.
In the middle of the night, he spotted Matt walking down the stairs and making out with an unknown individual. Dominic quickly realized that if Shelby witnesses this, it will create a lot more drama between the three of them. He then woke Shelby up and brought her downstairs, where she saw Matt having sex with the Wild Witch from their story. Matt ended up admitting his love for the witch, Scáthach leading Shelby to kill him in the heat of the moment. Dominic witnessed everything and took the weapon she used to kill him off of Shelby. As Shelby mourned and regretted immediately her husband's death, Dominic tried to calm her down. Despite discovering a much darker side of Shelby, he kept interacting with her. Dominic even tried to comfort Shelby, telling her that she had no choice but to confess to the murder, as the cameras for the show deliver all the proof.[3] She then kills herself leaving Dominic worried in the house alone. When Lee and Audrey go back to the house, Dominic tells them what happened to Shelby and Matt. The women don't believe him and Lee locks him outside the bedroom where he is slaughtered by the Pig Man.

Quotes[]
- Dominic: "You know what I love about reality TV the most? The bad guy. Puck. Omarosa. That crazy bitch with the fake leg. Yeah, I did my homework. Sure, I care about Shelby. I mean, she is fine. But Sidney paid me to come back for one reason and one reason only: ratings. You see this? Check this out. Mmm. Sid's got me wired and ready to ruin these people's lives and record every moment of it. Body cam. Up close and personal. Booyah. Hey, listen, if I got to play the dick in order for people to tune in for ratings, then that's what the hell I'm-a do. What's the bright side? Let me tell you what the bright side is. The bad guy is always the lead on every show. Now, let me ask you something else, judgmental motherfuckers, what's more important than screen time, huh?"
- Dominic: "I did not sign up for this shit! Sidney said if-if I played a-a good villain, I'd get my own spin-off. I am not getting killed over no damn TV show."
