Macaulay Carson Culkin (born August 26, 1980) is an American actor and musician, known for portraying Kevin McCallister in the Christmas films Home Alone (1990).
Biography[]
Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980, in New York City. His father, Christopher Cornelius 'Kit' Culkin, is a former actor known for his productions on Broadway and is the brother of the actress Bonnie Bedelia.
Macaulay was a child star who appeared in notable classics like Uncle Buck before getting his breakthrough role in Home Alone. Culkin took a break from acting, fronted a band, and wrote a book before returning to film dark comedies and do voice-over work. He launched a comedy website and podcast, and appears frequently in commercials.
Work on American Horror Story[]
In February 2020, AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy announced Macaulay would join the cast of American Horror Story for the then upcoming tenth season ahead of the revelation of the season theme – Double Feature. Digital writer Nick Romano said that Macaulay Culkin "got that element of crazy that fits so perfectly into the absurdist world of Ryan Murphy," teasing "a crazy sex scene with Kathy Bates." She was later replaced by Frances Conroy due to health concerns.[1]
